Dog Behavior & Health Policies
- It is preferred that your dog be able to walk in a group when booking with Pittsburgh Dog Walker LLC, however not required. If your dog needs to be walked solo, please be sure to check the checkbox when you are registering your account so that we can schedule accordingly.
- You must disclose any behavioural or medical condition that may make your dog unsuitable for group walks. This would include antisocial behaviour, aggression, possessive behaviour, lack of training and conditions such as incontinence, chronic vomiting, or travel/ mobility problems.
- Pittsburgh Dog Walker LLC reserves the right to refuse or discontinue walks for any dog deemed to be unsuitable for walks.
- All dogs must be provided with a well-fitting collar and/or harness. Pittsburgh Dog Walker LLC will not be held liable for any injury or any damage caused or incurred by the your dog escaping due to an ill-fitting or faulty collar / harness.
- Please let us know if your dog requires a muzzle in public, and make it accessible to your walker with the dog's leash and other gear.
- Pittsburgh Dog Walker LLC will not walk any dog with a prong collar. If your dog has a prong collar on when the walker arrives to collect them, they will replace it with a spare regular collar, or they fit them with a harness. If this is an issue, please do not book a walk with Pittsburgh Dog Walker LLC.
Booking Policies
- Cancelations should be made as soon as possible to avoid interfering with our walk schedule. A lot of dog owners rely on us to take care of their dog, so we need to be as accommodating and respectful to everyone as possible. Please try to give 24 hour notice for any cancelation.
- Meet & Greet sessions can be scheduled before your walk date (at least one day before).
- Access to your property and/or home will be discussed once your walk is booked. We can meet up prior to the walk date (not same day) to collect keys, or you can leave your keys in a secure place on your property for your walker to collect.
Walking Policies
- Dogs are walked rain, snow, or shine, but discretion will be used if the weather is severe.
- Dogs that were reported as good with other dogs that prove to be a behavioral issue during a group walk will be promptly returned to the owner's home and no refund will be given for that day's service. Please be sure you are honest about your dog's temperament and comfort levels.
- Very often, our walker's own dog will come along on your dog's walks around the closer Northside neighborhoods.
Communication Policies
- Urgent communications will be made by text, email, or phone as required and necessary.
- You need to provide a name and contact telephone number of an emergency contact for your dog at the time of registration. Your vet's details will also be recorded and they will be contacted if we are unable to communicate with the emergency contact listed.
By booking a walk with Pittsburgh Dog Walker LLC and using our services, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions as they are written and any changes that may be made to them in the future. These terms and conditions are subject to change at any time, with or without notice. We strive to provide quality, safe care for your dog(s) at all times. No matter what, the well-being of the animal comes before all else and actions/communications made by our walkers will always reflect that.
